How To Check If Your Internet Connection Is Fast Enough For Gaming & Netflix

Sponsored

If you need to download a very large File, I think the best way to go about it is to let it happen overnight because of the internet connection. During overnight not only will you get an extreme speed that you need because everyone is asleep but also you wouldn’t want to stop every other thing you are doing online just to get the download finish faster for you. This same trick can’t be used when you want to watch Netflix or play a game online. And not only will you need a very high download speed to play games efficiently but you will also need a low latency.

Many online internet speed testing services check the latency of your internet connection in addition to its download and upload speed thought SourceForge has a new internet speed checking tool that figures and tells you if your internet speed is capable for watching Hulu, Netflix, or streaming live to Twitch and gaming.

To Check If Your Internet Connection Is Fast Enough For Gaming & Netflix

Visit the link at the bottom of this post, make sure no one is connected to your network if you are using a WIFI network and that you yourself don’t have any download or upload in progress, after that checking all that click Test Now. The test will only take a few minutes to complete.

Once the test process is complete, you can have a review of each test that was conducted. Hover around the question mark next to a test to find out how good or bad the reading is, or you can scroll further down and check the “Services supported” and Services that are not recommended” tabs. The tab that says “Services not recommended” will tell you if your internet connection is good enough to play games or watch Netflix.

Please note that the results may differ from time to time if your internet connection particularly crumbly. If you notice that the connection works better at certain periods of the day compared to others, you might want to try it at that time as well. We also notice that it is only the Upload and Download speeds that may improve and latency, as well as packet loss, might remain less or more the same but it’s worth a try.
