Samsung Unveils The New Galaxy Note 7 With A Dual Pixel Rear Camera, Iris Scanner

Samsung finally unveiled its much-awaited flagship, which is the Galaxy Note 7. The latest device in the Note series looks more like a considerable upgrade from its past predecessor. It is actually the first Note with an Edge kind of display on the both sides clubbed with a water-resistant body. Having a look at the images, the Note 7 looks much bigger than the Galaxy S7 edge. With its S pen and a bigger display, the Note 7 also brings fresh new features on board.

Feeding the past rumours, the latest Galaxy Note 7 does feature a USB Type-C port and also an iris scanner. Samsung has also integrated the iris scanner very cleverly, and it will come in a handy style for secure online payments via the Samsung Pay. Also, the iris scanner seems to work very quickly, and it may prove to be very useful for its user. The S Pen will also function on a wet screen, thanks to its water-resistant display on board. The Galaxy Note 7 is the first Note in the Note series to come with a 64GB of internal storage. A microSD card slot is also include too, which went missing on the Galaxy Note 5.

It came with a 5.7-inch Edge Super AMOLED display of Quad HD resolution. The Note 7 also features a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The Note 7 is a quad-core Snapdragon 820 or an octa-core Exynos 8890 chipset, depending on the region (the US, Japan, and China are all expected to get the Snapdragon variant). It also comes with a 4GB of RAM on board which debunks the rumour that tipped the Note 7 will come with a 6GB of RAM.

The S Pen was also upgraded with the Note 7, decorated with some new cool features. The Screen of memo lets users take a note just by taking the S Pen out from the slot. The Screen off memo works even when the phone is locked and it also enables users to pin notes to the Always On Display feature. The Note 7 also comes with a unique Air command translator, which helps translates foreign language when the user hovers the S Pen over the text.

The Galaxy Note 7 is equipped with a 3,500 mAh battery capacity, which is much bigger than its predecessor. All thanks to the USB Type-C port, the Note 7 also supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 along with a Wireless charging. Also in the imaging segment, it has a 12-megapixel primary camera with Dual Pixel autofocus and f/1.7 aperture, and also a 5-megapixel front camera with f/1.7 aperture. The device runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0 with TouchWiz skin on the Top. Samsung is likely to give it an upgrade to the Android Nougat later this year or early 2017. The connectivity options include GPS/ A-GPS, 3G, Bluetooth, 4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4/5GHz), and USB Type-C. The device also supports LTE 4G, which is compatible with LTE Cat.9, LTE.10, and LTE.12.

Concerning its availability, the Galaxy Note 7 is expected to go on sale in selected markets on August 19th. It will be made available in Gold Platinum, Black Onyx, Blue Coral and Sliver Titanium color options. In the United State, it will be on sale via all mobile carriers such as T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon Wireless and Sprint. Pre-orders will begin on Wednesday.
