Some iPhone 7 And iPhone 7 Plus Owners Report A Hissing Sound From Their Device

The Apple iPhone 7 has once again proved that it’s a survivor after it went through a series of stress tests last week. During one of the said tests, it was discovered that the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus camera lens, home button and the back are resistant to coins and key scratches.

Due to IP67 ratings for water and dust resistance, all the smartphones that were put inside water and other liquids came out undamaged. In a recent YouTube video which was uploaded by Callux, an iPhone 7 was dropped from a helicopter and remained functional even after its screen got cracked.

It’s just barely three days since the iPhone 7 went on sale and some complaints of a particular hissing sound have been arising from its users. Stephen Hackett of 512 Pixels was the very first to observe it as he was trying to make a restore of his unit from iCloud.

And according to him, the hissing sound was actually coming from the back of the phone as soon as he picked it up from his desk. He contacted AppleCare to make the complaint, they promised to replace the device for him. There are speculations that the problem normally arises from the CPU because whenever the iPhone is under heavy load the hissing gets worse.

Though the hissing sound does not affect the overall performance of the phone, so this may not be a major issue. Apple has not released any official statement regarding this issue.
