Just two months ago after rolling out Picture-in-Picture mode feature out to WhatsApp beta users, WhatsApp has now finally rolled out PiP mode to all Android users worldwide.
Although its true that iPhone users have been enjoying the feature since the beginning of the year 2018, it is now time for all Android users to also enjoy this new feature.
This new feature nicknamed PiP (Picture in Picture) mode allows users to view YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram videos directly in WhatsApp without leaving the app.
So for instance, if someone shares a YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram video with you on WhatsApp, if you click on the link it will no longer take you outside of WhatsApp but right within the app, you will see a play button; tapping on it expands the video to the top of the chat and starts playing the video immediately.
Whiles playing the video, the WhatsApp conversation you were having with your friend still remains active underneath it, so you can still type and read and scroll normally without any interruptions.
If you don’t have the feature on your phone, that means you’re still making use of the old WhatsApp, just update your app to the latest version and the feature will be active on your WhatsApp messenger. We can’t help but wonder why it took WhatsApp so long to roll out the feature to Android users.
