How To Easily Change The Color Of Visited Links In Google Search On Firefox

Sponsored

When you search for something on Google, the search results all feature blue page titles. Also, once you open a link, however, it turns purple. This is standard across the web. Links that you have visited turn a different color, normally purple. It’s a simple, visual approach to tell users which links they have already visited so that they don’t open them again. On a link dense page like the Google search results page, this is very useful. It does not only helps detect visited links but as well as make scrolling through a page much easier. Though the purple color for the visited links is staple, it may not suit everybody. It may be difficult to see particularly if you’re visually impaired. Custom Google Visited Link Color is a Firefox add-on that allows you to change the color of visited links in Google.

Custom Google Visited Link Color works just for visited links on Google so sites like Reddit that follow the same color convention for visited links won’t be affected.

Change The Color Of Visited Connections In Google Search

Install Custom Google Visited Link Color. Open the Firefox add-on manager with the Ctrl+Shift+A which is the keyboard shortcut. Search for Custom Google Visited Link Color you just installed and tap the “Options” button beside the typical Disable and Remove buttons.

On the Options screen, enter a color code for the color that you want links to change to. You can enter a color with a HEX or RGB code, or you can utilize cross-browser color names like Red or Yellow. If you utilize cross-browser color names, you will have fewer options in terms of color selection. It’s best to utilize a HEX or RGB code. If you don’t know where you can search for the color code, simply use the Paint app on Windows. It has a color picker and a color selection tools that gives you the RGB code for a color.

Now, all you should do is simply visit links. The visited links will automatically turn the color you set for them.

Limitations

There’s just a single limitation with this addon; it works solely for Google search. It neglects the fact that if somebody needs the visited links to show up in an entirely different color on Google, they may need the same on every other domain. To some, this may appear like a senseless modification but individuals who experience color blindness or have impaired vision require little tools like this to do regular basic things. Desktop browsers aren’t big availability options so individuals, need to manage with add-ons like this.
