All iPhones that support 3D touch, the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus and above, have got a wide range of new features available in the newest iOS 10 than the older devices. iOS 10 comes with newly added features that work specifically through the 3D touch and are made inaccessible to anyone using an iOS device that lacks it. One of the features is the brightness of the flashlight that you can now control. It has got three different levels of intensity, which is low, medium, and bright. The intensity can be adjusted from the Control Center via the flashlight button. Here is how to go about it.
All you need to do is swipe upward from the very bottom of your screen to open the Control Center. The brightness control functions through the 3D touch so instead of you tapping on the flashlight button, just press on it to register a 3D touch.
The 3D touch menu will be displayed with three options for you to choose from: Low Light, Medium Light, and Bright Light. Now tap any of the options which you desire to turn on the flashlight. Depending on which of the options you tapped, the flashlight will be bright or dim accordingly.
All iPads and iPhones which do not have 3D touch will not be able to access this feature in any way. Though there are rumors that some jailbreak tweaks claim to bring 3D touch to unsupported devices. At least, these said tweaks claim to make the 3D touch controls accessible on devices that lack the feature.
Since iOS 10 has just been released, a jailbreak tool is not available for it just yet. Users who are on older device looking forward to retain 3D touch tweaks, or any other tweak for that sake, will need to defer the upgrade. Once the jailbreak for iOS 10 arrives though, this is just one of the new features you will have access to.
Although, what’s disappointing is that this simple does not have a non-3D touch alternative. For you being able to control the brightness of the flashlight is very useful. It’s pretty great for when you might only need a little bit of light or when your device battery is low but you need to be able to see where you’re heading to.
