Not so surprisingly, many of those said rumors actually turned out to be true, And the Apple iPhone 7 really does include those features. There are actually two variants of the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

Apple iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, What’s the main difference?
Just similar to the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus, Apple launched two variants of the new sets of iPhone – the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The iPhone 7 comes along with a 4.7-inch Retina display with a screen resolution of 1334 x 750 pixels. While the iPhone 7 Plus comes with a 5.5-inch Retina display with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Also, the iPhone 7 comes with just a single camera lens on the rear while the iPhone 7 Plus comes with a massive 12-megapixel dual camera lens on the rear. Another major difference is that the iPhone 7 comes with a 2GB RAM while the iPhone 7 Plus comes with a 3GB RAM size.
In terms of the design, we actually didn’t see much change. However, the iPhone 7 is much pretty shinier than the iPhone 6s! Apple also claims to have used robots to make the aluminum pretty bright. The bright color variant is called as “Jet Black”. There is a stainless steel Apple logo on the device rear, which mixes very well with the shiny glass body. Also, there is a typical Black color variant alongside a Gold, Rose Gold, and Silver color options to choose from. The Black color model will be made available in matte and gloss finish.
Home Button, Water and Dust Resistance
Just like we saw on the MacBook, Apple has also introduced that same force touch on its iPhone 7. It is embedded into the device Home button. Apple’s Taptic engine, which actually feels like clicking but it does not actually click, just the feel of it. Like the rumors tipped us, the iPhone 7 is very much durable than its predecessors. It is also a Water and Dust proof, thanks to IP67 protection.
The most important feature of any device is its hardware and software. The iPhone 7 comes with a very brand new processor — The A10 Fusion, a four-core CPU. It has got two top-performance CPU (all the four are 40 percent faster than the A9) and two high-efficiency cores, which run at one-fifth of the total device power for better battery saving.
Apple also has got a new performance controller that will determine which app is driven by which core. Throughout the launch event, Apple kept on emphasizing on the better performance of the battery life on the iPhone 7. One can expect to get about two hours more of battery backup on the iPhone 7 compared to the iPhone 6s. Also, both the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus runs on the Apple newest iOS 10. The company will begin rolling out an OTA update from September 13 for other Apple devices also.
During the event launch, Apple talked more concerning the camera performance on its new iPhone. The iPhone 7 comes with just a single rear lens while the iPhone 7 Plus comes with a dual-lens on the rear. The regular single lens iPhone 7 comes along with a 12-megapixel sensor with quad-LED flash, 1.8 aperture, six-element. It also comes with a 7-megapixel selfie camera.
While on the other hand, the iPhone 7 Plus comes with two separate 12-megapixel camera lenses on the rear. The dual-lens setup enables the device to capture wide-angle images – one of the lens gets 1x zoom while the other lens gets the 2x zoom. Apple also made mention an upcoming “Portrait” feature, which will offer DSLR- like image quality. Like DSLRs users will be able to a shallow depth of field when they click on pictures from the iPhone 7 Plus.
Audio And AirPods
The Apple iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus comes with stereo speakers – one is being placed at the very bottom while the other at the top. These said speakers give a double sound output than its predecessors. As expected, Apple also got rid of the 3.5mm headphone audio jack. But, the devices will come along with a Lighting-to-3.5mm audio adapter so as to accept the use of regular earphones too.
Apple also further launched new wireless AirPods, which is priced at $159. These won’t be part of the device package though, and users have to purchase them separately. They Pair effortlessly with all Apple devices, thanks to the W1 chip inside Apple devices. These AirPods also comes with a charging case.
Pricing and Availability
The iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus will be made available in three storage variants – 32GB/128GB/256GB. This around, Apple has decided to ditch the 16GB storage model. The start price of the iPhone 7 (64GB) is $649, and the iPhone 7 Plus (64GB) is $769 respectively. Both devices will go on pre-ordering from Friday, they will hit all major stores on September 16. The AirPods will go on sale in October.
