Microsoft’s Windows 10 Anniversary Update Finally Arrives

Windows 10 Anniversary Update is finally here, it is now freely available to all PC and smartphones users which are already on Windows 10. Some users might have to wait for a little while as the update is been rolled out in phases. Devices that has a minimum of 2GB of RAM and 16GB of hard disk size are all compatible with the update.

Many improvements were rolled out along with the update. The Windows Start Menu has a really cool makeover. When you click on it, all apps list will be displayed alphabetically, thereby making it very easy to scroll through on PC. Cortana is now better and it has been integrated across multiple devices, including Windows phone and Android. The voice assistant is now able to function even when your PC screen is locked, it can also search through files.

The update also comes with a newly introduced security option called “ Windows Hello”, it enables users to log in with their facial recognition, fingerprints, or any other type of biometric features. Windows Ink now allows users of stylus on touch devices like the Surface Tablets. Though Edge browser now has support for extensions, but it still needs more improvement. Windows Defender now runs automatic background scans for it to help nip malware in the bud.

For you to fully enjoy all these features, an upgrade is very important. You Enabling the Windows automatic update will inform you when the update is available for your device. If you’re in a haste like me 😀 to get your hands on the update, you can do a manual check by checking its availability status via the Settings app at the Start Menu or better still you can use the Windows USB/DVD Download Tool to get the update and upgrade your PC. New Windows 10 PC will come along with the Anniversary Update.

Users that did not take the advantage of the free Windows upgrade that just ended on July 29th will have to pay a fee of £99.99 for the Windows 10 Home version, and the Professional version goes for £189.99.
