Your router’s administrative section is able to Show you a whole lot of information about your WIFI network. It’s also where you can change your WIFI password, change which channel you connect to, block access to any domain of your choice, and much more. It’s also where you can see all the devices that are currently connected to your network.
For you to access all this information though, you need to access the administrative section from your desktop browser. If you only need to access something specific on the administrative section like, the number of devices that are currently connected to your network, you might actually want a faster and easier way to do it. Here’s an app called Home Wifi Alert-Wifi Analyzer, it’s a free iOS and Android app that can scan your Wifi network and also list all the devices currently connected to it. You also have the option to ping a device and name it anything you want if it is the one you recognize.
Now, install Home Wifi Alert-Wifi Analyzer and tap on the “Scan” button to start the scanning process. Once the scan is completed, the app will list all the devices that are currently connected to your network. Some devices will appear as trusted while others will appear as untrustworthy.
The app only identifies devices by their Wifi chipsets and will not be able to list the name of a device unless the device is an iOS device. Older iOS devices might also appear as a trusted device but they won’t be listed with their names. Windows desktops will not also appear by their name likewise Android phones.
If you recognize a particular device, you can choose to name it so that the next time you scan your network, the device will appear according to the name you set for it. This app features advertisements on almost all device screens. You can choose to upgrade the app to remove the advertisements.
